Taken an Inside Tour Of Battleship

The Battleship Texas is a historic site which is located over twenty miles east of downtown Houston and is home to the USS Texas, a New York class battleship. It was commissioned in 1914, Texas saw combat in both the first and second world wars. It was used during the Normandy beach landings, shelling Axis held beaches and later it provided gunfire support during both the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. 

Another unique thing about Battleship is that it was the first US battleship to be fitted with anti-aircraft guns and was the first to launch an aircraft. It was the first battleship that was turned into a battleship and first to be declared National Historic Landmark.
